A central aim of HEIRS is to facilitate scholarly exchange and discussion related to its core areas of focus: households, inheritance, family relations, social structures, credit, consumption, and inequality. Through these themes, HEIRS seeks to promote a perspective on economic and material conditions in a historical context. HEIRS organizes a range of different activities.

HEIRS Online Seminar
In 2026, HEIRS will launch a series of online seminars linked to its research themes. The seminars will place particular emphasis on future research challenges. The seminar series is open to all interested participants. A programme will be presented here once it is finalized.
HEIRS Lund Workshop
HEIRS is primarily based at Lund University and seeks to bring together Lund scholars whose work relates to its core thematic areas. This is done, among other
things, through recurring workshops featuring presentations of ongoing research.
